Leigh Stephens, MAICertified General Real Estate Appraiser & BrokerLeigh Stephens founded Stephens Appraisal Services in 2010. Leigh graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business with a major in Accounting. Leigh is a licensed real estate appraiser in Alabama and Tennessee, and earned the MAI Designation from the Appraisal Institute in 2010. The Appraisal Institute confers the MAI Designated membership on commercial and general real estate appraisal professionals demonstrating the highest standards of education, expertise and ethics.

Elizabeth BenzReal Estate Appraiser Trainee & Real Estate SalesElizabeth Benz graduated from Berry College in Rome, GA with a Masters in Education and spent several years there teaching. She decided to redirect her career to become a real estate agent to create a lasting impact on the lives of those she serves, whether assisting a family in finding their first home or helping a business to find a perfect space. Elizabeth has a great knowledge of North Alabama, a passion for helping people, and desire to make the goals of her clients her own. Elizabeth is currently pursuing a Certified General Real Property Appraisal License.

Mike CooleyReal Estate Appraiser TraineeMike Cooley is a Trainee Appraiser with Stephens Appraisal Services and is currently pursuing a Certified General Real Property Appraisal License as well as the MAI designation. Mike graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and worked for 26 years in the Madison County Tax Assessor's office as an Alabama Certified Appraiser and six years for Garrett & Associates prior to joining Stephens Appraisal Services.

Ashley RiversAdministrative AssistantAshley Rivers graduated from The University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL with a Bachelor of Science in Education. After teaching in the Mobile area for several years, she and her family moved to Huntsville in 2020. She has always had an interest in the real estate industry and serving others, and she joined Stephens Appraisal Services to utilize those skills within her community.

ABOUT THE OWNER

Upon graduation from Auburn University, Leigh spent the subsequent ten years working in Rome, Georgia in the accounting profession. In 1999, the international advertising firm of Barwick, Bodden and Pritchard offered Leigh a position as Financial Controller, and she relocated to Grand Cayman, BWI. After residing in Grand Cayman for two years, Leigh moved back to her hometown of Huntsville, and trained to be a commercial real estate appraiser with Garrett & Associates. Leigh’s interest in the fields of commercial appraisal and brokerage led her to form Stephens Appraisal Services and Stephens Real Estate Services, located on the courthouse square in Downtown Huntsville, Alabama.
In addition to appraisal, Leigh is a licensed real estate broker in Alabama and represents local and national clients in brokerage services including acquisitions, sales, and leasing. Leigh’s thorough knowledge in commercial real estate appraisal offers proficiency in providing effective brokerage solutions to the client. Whether it be appraisal or commercial brokerage services, Leigh delivers meaningful and sound judgment to assist clients in their business decisions. Leigh was 2017 President of the Alabama Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and is a current Board Member of the Madison County Board of Equalization.
